HIGH SCHOOL TO CAREER SCHOLARSHIP

The High School to Career Scholarship was established in 2009 by a generous donation from an anonymous donor. The donor advocates for graduating high school students from any high school in Allegheny County that is Pittsburgh Promise ineligible to pursue higher education opportunities that will lead to gainful employment.
 
The selection of scholarship recipients is made by the Scholarship Review Committee. Awards may be used for tuition, books and fees for a maximum of five semesters and maximum award of $10,000. This scholarship is intended to provide funding to allow recent high school graduates from throughout Allegheny County to pursue a two year Associate of Science or Associate of Applied Science and then enter the workforce in their chosen field. Culturally and ethnically diverse students are encouraged to apply.
 
Awards will be used for tuition, fees and all other education related expenses. Scholarship recipients will be evaluated each semester. The scholarship may be terminated if the recipient fails to maintain a 2.75 GPA.
 
ELIGIBILITY:
 
•Be a graduate of any high school in Allegheny County that is Pittsburgh Promise ineligible with a minimum GPA of 2.75
•Be a 2020 or later graduate and enroll at CCAC within three years of graduation
•Have applied and/or register for the fall 2023 semester at CCAC
•Be working toward an Associate of Science or Associate of Applied Science degree in one of the following programs: Applied Service and Trade Technologies; Electrical Construction Technology; Business Careers in Accounting; Computer and Information Technology; Engineering & Science Technologies; or Health Careers
•Take a minimum of 12 credits per semester•Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 once enrolled at CCAC
•Complete a FAFSA form
 
APPLICATION PROCEDURES: Applicants must complete an application form and submit a double spaced essay, not exceeding two pages, responding to the question, “How would this scholarship help you ease your financial burden and meet your educational goals?” Application packets should following items:
 
1.application form with student name facing up
2.essay
3.high school transcripts
4.CCAC transcripts (if applicable)
 
The submission packet can be sent via email to scholarships@ccac.edu or via mail to the address below. Please note that students are responsible for ensuring that their submissions are complete and will not be contacted if items are missing.

SELECTION: Applications will be reviewed by the Scholarship Review Committee. The decision of the committee is final.
 
NOTIFICATION: Recipients will be notified by Monday, July 24, 2023. Attendance at the spring 2024 scholarship luncheon is strongly encouraged.
